Very fast shipping

30/09/2026

Although a good variety of wines, i ordered a 2016 Saint emillion and i received a 2017 one from the same chateau. It was wrong information on the stock availability on the website. I contacted them and they accepted to correct the mistake and offerrede alternatives of different wines or refund and picking up the wonrgly delivered bottle. As a first experience it was not one of the most positive but again these things can happen

Gaja

  • Year: 1859
  • Location: IT, Piemont

Annual Production: 350 000 lahví

Historie

Vinařství Gaja má bohatou historii, která sahá až do roku 1859, kdy ho založil Giovanni Gaja. Rodina začínala výrobou vína pro svůj hostinec a poté získávala různé pozemky, až začala vyrábět vína v italském Barbarescu.

Překročíme rok 1961 a pravnuk Giovanniho Gaji, Angelo Gaja, začíná svou kariéru ve společnosti. V návaznosti na úspěch vlajkové lodi Barbaresco (časopis Wine Spectator označil Barbaresco z roku 1985 za "nejlepší vína, jaká kdy byla v Itálii vyrobena") Angelo Gaja svým temperamentním a stylovým přístupem k výrobě a marketingu dosáhl renomovaného úspěchu u kritiků i spotřebitelů i u dalších odrůd vín, včetně Chardonnay a Cabernet Sauvignon.

Zajímavá fakta

Vinařství začínalo se skromnými pěti hektary a v průběhu let získalo několik vinic v oblastech Piemont, Montalcino a Bolgheri v Itálii a vyrábí celkem 18 různých vín.
