UPS was horrible. First they announced the expected delivery and then they kept my wife waiting entire day and in the end did NOT deliver without any notice (!). The next morning only they advised the changed expected delivery date (!) and this time it was successful. The whole day waisted, no chance to call the courier. Awful experience! Arrogant bastards.

UPS byla příšerná. Nejdřív oznámili předpokládaný termín doručení a pak nechali mou ženu čekat celý den, až nakonec zásilku bez jakéhokoli upozornění (!) nedoručili. Teprve následujícího rána nám sdělili změněný předpokládaný termín doručení (!) a tentokrát už to vyšlo. Celý den promarněný, bez možnosti zavolat kurýrovi. Hrozná zkušenost! Arogantní parchanti.

Jihoafrická vína

Víno se v Jižní Africe začalo vyrábět v 17. století díky holandským a francouzským osadníkům. Dnes země zažívá vinařskou renesanci s více než tisícovkou vyrobců a patří mezi osm největších vinařských zemí světa.

Klíčové jihoafrické vinařské oblasti

Jihoafrické vinařství se soustřeďuje kolem Západního mysu, kde dlouhá a teplá léta mírní Benguelský proud z Antarktidy, který vytváří chladivý oceánský vánek. Nejznámějšími oblastmi, kde se vyrábějí nejlepší jihoafrická vína, jsou Stellenbosch, Swartland a Franschhoek, které jsou známé svými robustními červenými víny. Chladné klima Walker Bay a Elgin je vhodnější pro bílá a lehčí červená vína. Další pozoruhodnou oblastí je Constantia, která je historickým domovem Vin de Constance, jednoho z nejlepších sladkých vín na světě v 18. a 19. století, díky čemuž máme nejlepší sladká jihoafrická vína.

Jihoafrické odrůdy hroznů

Jihoafrickou charakteristickou odrůdou je Pinotage, kříženec Pinot Noir a Cinsault, z něhož se vyrábí silné a kořeněné červené víno. K dalším oblíbeným odrůdám patří bordeauxské stálice jako Cabernet Sauvignon a Merlot a také Sauvignon Blanc a Chardonnay. Chenin Blanc je obzvláště prominentní u bílých vín, kterých je v Jihoafrické republice vysázeno více než dvakrát tolik než v jeho rodné Francii.
