Founded in 1945, initially with the simple intention of supplying wines for the small family bistro, the Gitton Pere et Fils domaine today owns approximately 33 hectares of vineyards spread across the prestigious Loire Valley in France, from which it produces excellent white and red wines.
The Sauvignon Blanc grapes come exclusively from the Galinot vineyard, planted in 1959 on a slope approximately 220-330 meters above sea level with a 25% gradient and east exposure. The vines benefit from siliceous soil. After manual harvesting, approximately three-quarters of the wine is vinified and aged for approximately 10 months in Croatian oak demi-muids, and the remainder in 600-liter French oak barrels, before blending and aging in stainless steel.
The result is a characterful wine with an intense color and golden hues. On the nose, it reveals a broad and mature aromatic profile with notes of stone fruit and quince, candied papaya, and beeswax on a light undertone of sweet spices. On the palate, it is juicy and medium-bodied, generous and fresh with a distinctive and well-balanced acidity and the minerality typical of Sancerre wines. The finish is long and invigorating. Try it with scallop risotto, grilled seabass, or foie gras escalope.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
