    Far Niente vína

    Historie

    Far Niente, což v italštině znamená "bezstarostný", byl původně založen v roce 1885 veteránem zlaté horečky Johnem Bensonem, který si na stavbu velkolepého starého kamenného vinařství přizval architekta Hamdena McIntyra. Během prohibice bylo panství opuštěno a teprve v roce 1979 mu noví majitelé Gil a Beth Nickelovi vrátili jeho někdejší slávu. Dnes se panství pyšní 200 akry prvotřídních vinic v celém údolí Napa Valley.

    Zajímavá fakta

    Dnes je Far Niente považováno za etalonového výrobce, který získává ovoce pro toto lahvování z chladné oblasti Coombsville východně od města Napa. Podmínky jsou zde podobné jako v Carneros, s vlivem oceánu a dobře odvodněnými štěrkovými půdami a půdami ze sopečného popela. Ovoce se sklízí ručně a do vinařství se převáží v malých koších, přičemž se provádí pečlivý výběr hroznů, aby se do tohoto vína dostalo jen to nejlepší.
